We know that&#8217;s not always possible, and this one example is sufficient: Millions of folks work in situations where Weather Radios aren&#8217;t available, but computers and mobile devices are handy. So. Here. We. Are.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Our setup is using a <a href=\"https:\/\/midlandusa.com\/product\/wr-300\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Midland WR300<\/a> Weather Radio, connected to our weather station computer audio interface, encoded as MP3 audio using <a href=\"http:\/\/danielnoethen.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">butt (<strong>B<\/strong>roadcast <strong>U<\/strong>sing <strong>T<\/strong>his <strong>T<\/strong>ool)<\/a> at 32k bit rate and 22,050Hz sample rate, then streamed to the <a href=\"http:\/\/noaaweatherradio.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NOAAWeatherRadio.org<\/a> Icecast server, where it is continually checked for quality and availability.<\/p>\n<p>We strongly recommend that all homes have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/nwr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio<\/a>.
